Happy Halloween!

This morning we got a wonderfully creepy little surprise from Robert Papp, the artist who does the covers and interior illustrations for The Boxcar Children Mysteries. If the ghoul girl here looks eerily familiar, it’s because Robert used the same model who appears as Jessie on the Boxcar covers! (Maybe this is the secret as to why the Aldens never age and can solve countless mysteries in a single summer.)

Halloween is one of our favorite holiday book subjects here—we’ve got seven current titles right now, including this fall’s The Halloween Book of Facts and Fun, by Wendie Old and illustrated by Paige Billin-Frye. Did you know that the first jack o’ lantern was made from a turnip? No, really. It’s in the book. Happy haunting!
