Staff Favorite Holiday Tales

Rather than writing a blog about all the wonderful holiday titles from Albert Whitman (you can find them here), we decided to ask our staff what their favorite holiday tales were – either as kids or adults.

I did not limit the question to books, so here goes:

As a child —Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. As a grown-up — Sabuda’s Christmas Alphabet — not a story, but an amazing book. (Margaret in Sales)

The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen (Nick in Art & Design)

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town: specifically the song Put One Foot in Front of the Other (Michelle in Marketing)

When I was a kid my family had The Reader’s Digest Book of Christmas, which was full of stories like A Child’s Christmas in Wales and the Christmas tree chapter from A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, and I loved it so much I bought my own copy on eBay. (Wendy in Editorial)

The Redneck Night Before Christmas by EJ Sullivan (Adam, Editorial Intern)

The Snowman by Raymond Briggs (Kristie in Digital & International)
