It’s Spring (finally!) and the holidays of Passover and Easter are upon us. At the Seder table and in an Easter basket, books are always welcome.
For Passover, we have a new offering — Hoppy Passover! by Linda Glaser, illustrated by Daniel Howarth. A companion book to Hoppy Hannukah!, this time twins Violet and Simon are learning all about Passover. Again, the world’s cutest rabbit Grandpa is one of the go-to people on the facts of the holiday. From bitter herbs to afikomen, this is a fun introduction to Passover for the pre-school set.
New in paperback this season for Easter is Looking for Easter by Doric Chaconas, illustrated by Margie Moore. This is a great book to spark a discussion of the meaning and feeling of Easter. As Booklist said about the original hardcover edition, “…the loving feel of this certainly says Easter more than decorated eggs. The simply drawn woodland animals washed with watercolors will attract little ones.”
So enjoy these upcoming holidays with some great books!
